94 Pathfinder Engine Noise.. Help?
Ok, I'm trying to restore my 94 pathfinder. I've done a lot to it, an one of the things I'd like to check off my list is a kind of "Click Click" sound. Like a poker card hitting bicycle spokes, if any of you have done that. Its loud and only when i hit the gas. (Note: The sound is coming from the engine area, and not the tail pipe) The engine is really quiet and sounds fine during idle. What I've come up with so far is 1: A crack in the exhaust pipe near the engine. 2: A piston is not firing. (I have yet to change the spark plugs) 3: A bad piston ring. So I would like to here any other ideas.. Thanks in advance.
The click click noise could be the spark plug lead not being attached to the spark plug. I don't know about the bad piston ring?
